Regeneration of Solvents for Washout Photopolymer Printing Plates as a Solution to Environmental Problem

Much attention from the point of view environmental protection is paid to process manufacturing photopolymer flexographic printing plates, where waste saturated with washout components solutions that pose a potential hazard environment and require introduction additional measures for disposal or regeneration. Washout are mixtures organic solvents composition, which can be regenerated reuse. Distillation was performed in glass reactor on an oil bath electric heating. The vapors were condensed direct-flow water-cooled reflux condenser. quality mixed controlled by refractive index. index determined refractometer RL-2. following temperature regime regeneration spent solution established: beginning distillation (at 760 mm Hg) — 130°°C, main fractions 135…170°°C. After regeneration, 90…95°% up 10°% composition residue obtained after according values index, linear correlation established. studies have shown possibility relief image plates distillation. In this case, preference should given mixture solvent-isopentanol proportions 10:2 10:3, as such allow intensify process. experimental results indicate adjusting values, correlation.
